-H.O.P.E attends Million Women Rise March!

Meena Kumari from H.O.P.E attended the Million Women Rise is a coalition of individual women and representatives from the Women’s Voluntary and Community Sector.

The first Million Women Rise demonstration in March 2008 saw 5000 women and children take to the streets of London to celebrate International Women’s Day .  It was the largest demonstration of women in UK history and the most diverse demonstration women have ever attended. For further details please long onto http://www.millionwomenrise.com/ The march was held on SATURDAY 7 MARCH 2009 where a huge number of women met at  PORTMAN SQUARE, and marched through OXFORD ST, REGENTS ST,  and PICCADILLY! The RALLY, speeches AND CELEBRATION was held at WATERLOO PLACE.  A key note speaker was Nerinder Jhall a survivor of Forced Marriages and an activist and campaigner against Domestic Violence, her face book page can be found under SISTER OF HOPE.
