-Forced Marriages & Honour Based Violence Conference wins Example of Excellence Award 2008

The Forced Marriages & Cultural Killings Conference organised by H.O.P.E Training, Leicestershire Constbulary and young people from Leicester has been has been selected as a Seen & Heard Example of excellence.

The purpose of Seen and Heard is to recognise and reward the achievements of young people who have made a real difference to their own lives and the lives of others. They also recognise adults who have listened to and acted upon the voices of young people. This is a partnership between BT and the UK Youth Parliament and is now in its seventh year.

There were over 100 entries: amongst them 25 international nominations from countries including Canada, Ukraine, Nigeria, Sweden, India and Afghanistan, however the Leicester Domestic Violence conference stood out as an example of excellence among the East Midlands Entries.
